24in12: This is a challenge that provides the participant with the opportunity to walk 24 miles in 12 hours along the West Highland Way. The route takes in some the most stunning scenery in the world, with 6000ft of ascent starting in Fort William and ending at the Glencoe Ski Centre.

When : Saturday 16th June 2018

WWTF:24in12 is open to all, this is about YOU and YOUR fitness,  and is also great way to raise funds for our charity or a charity of your choice.

Unfit? – We have training walks every 3 weeks to build you up to the challenge!
Fit? – join the training walks to build that all important team spirit!

Is it a Challenge?
ABSOLUTELY!
But we support you all the way, no-one ever walks alone!

Over the last two years approximately 60 participants have taken part in our activity challenge, many having never walked in the hills, let alone walked for 24 miles with some 6,000 ft. of ascent – but everyone who started completed the challenge.

We have had those who have participated every year so far and others who were happy with just to take part once. All those that have taken part stated that they enjoyed the experience and comradeship, and many making new friends over the training and final walk days!

So what are you waiting for, sign up to the challenge and help raise valuable funds for charity.

The Route

Fort William to Glencoe – 24 miles in 12 hrs.

  • 24 Miles (38.41km)
  • 6,056ft (1846m) of Ascent
  • Includes the Devil’s Staircase (downhill)
  • Stunning Scenery

Now – full disclosure – some measured the distance at 24.2 some at 25.6 miles – and all readings in-between. We have had one walker do it in 7hrs 40 min and many that took more than 12hrs – it’s about the personal challenge.

It’s your challenge!

It’s not a race! No one walks alone! No one finishes alone!

Training

The Walk with the Foundation: 24 in 12 is a challenge!

The 24 miles will cover approximately 6,000ft and while it’s on the beautiful West Highland Way some of the paths can be rocky and rough.

The Walk with the Foundation: 24 in 12 is aimed at being not only being motivational but designed to encourage fitness and we would like to make you aware of these very important points:

  1. This walk is achievable by all!
  2. All walkers will need to train.
  3. It’s so much easier as a team!
